A question I get asked all the time is how can I understand my life purpose? To understand this, firstly I recommend you to break it down and understand your life, and then apply lessons, potential and ambition into the mix. This can be as simple, or as difficult as you make it. But let’s take a look at it step by step.
Firstly, let’s look at lessons. What has life taught you? Right there, you can understand part of your purpose by learning to understand how wise you’ve become from your past. But also, take a look at what you’ve achieved by overcoming your past too.
For example, an ex-alcoholic who’s overcome alcolholism could become a great advocate for acholoholics. But that’s only a basic example though.
Other things to take into consideration are skills and abilities, ambition, desires, passions, and potential. Ask yourself and make a list of the skills you’ve obtained over the years, and what your abilities are. But don’t stop there, go further, don’t let your insecurity or self worth interfere here. Instead, bring your potential into it, so what would you do if money was no object, or if you trusted yourself and believed in yourself more.
Also, take a look at your passions, what are your desires? What does your heart and soul yearn to do? If nothing stood in your way, what would you do? Don’t be afraid to think big, but if you do think big, break it down into smaller, easy to achieve steps.
